Terms of service
Last updated: October 26, 2026. When you subscribe, you also sign a short service agreement. If anything here conflicts with that signed agreement, the signed agreement controls.
1. The service
Habitat Local builds, hosts and maintains a website for your business and, depending on your plan, provides a content creation app and weekly content delivery. Plans are Presence ($199/month), Creation ($349/month) and Automatic ($479/month), in US dollars.
2. Billing and minimum term
There is no setup fee. You are billed monthly by card through Stripe. Plans have a 6-month minimum. If you cancel before month six, the remaining monthly fees up to month six are due. After month six you may cancel any time before your next billing date. Founding-client pricing (30% off for 12 months) applies only where your agreement says so.
3. Failed payments
If a payment fails we retry automatically and email you on day 3 and day 7. On day 10 your site may be paused. On day 30 the service ends. Paying the balance restores the service if it has not ended.
4. 10-day launch guarantee
Your site goes live within 10 days after you approve your demo and give us the access we need to your domain’s DNS. If we miss that date for reasons within our control, your first monthly fee is waived. Delays caused by missing content, access or approvals do not count.
5. One company per trade per city
While your plan is active, we will not build or promote a website for another business in your trade in the city named in your agreement.
6. Your domain and your content
You register and own your domain in your own account. You own your photos, logo, reviews and brand, and you give us permission to use them to provide the service. We own our templates, code and tools; you may use the finished site while your plan is active.
7. What we do not do
We do not run paid ads, post on your behalf, or run chat bots or automated replies to your customers. We do not promise any ranking or number of leads. Search results depend on factors we do not control.
8. Demo
The demo is free, stays online for 10 days at a private address and is not indexed by search engines. You owe nothing if you do not subscribe.
9. Your responsibilities
You confirm that you have the right to the photos and information you give us, and that your license, insurance and business claims are accurate.
10. Limits
The service is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or lost-profit damages.
